Ives Vineyard
Originally planted in the late 1960s to Ives (another v. labrusca varietal), this four-acre block of Chardonnay was later field-grafted to the vineyard's original 3309 rootstock. While the field-grafting proved successful, the time and labor-intensive nature of the proposition prevented further exploitation of the technique. As such, our Ives Chardonnay Vineyard is one of the first and only field-grafted vineyards in the Finger Lakes, and at 40 years old, contains our oldest vines.
